Independence day is fast approaching, and it’s the perfect time to have some fun with the fam! In this blog post, the SOULBUDDY team will be taking you through some of our favorite places to spend this sunny summer holiday!
It’s almost the 4th of July - the weather is getting warmer, the beaches are drawing more crowds, and families are drawing closer to spend quality time together. Whether your family is more of the outdoorsy type or the kind to just want to chill and watch a movie together on the couch, there’s plenty of family-friendly places to spend this holiday! Without further ado, here are some of the best places to go on the 4th with your family!
- Take a family outing to the beach. This is a classic 4th of July activity - just make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, beach games, water, towels, and an umbrella!
- Go for a scenic hike. One of the best ways to celebrate this gorgeous country we live in is to immerse yourself in its natural landscape via a hike with the family. This doesn’t necessarily have to mean a long or strenuous hike - it can be a short jaunt on a hiking trail as well! Be sure to come prepared for the hike and take it at whatever pace feels right for you and the family.
- Go for a swim at the public pool. If the beach is too crowded for your likings, gather your family and take a dip at your local pool! Most pools even have cabanas to lounge around in as well as barbecues to prepare your 4th of July feast!
- Pack a picnic and head to your local fireworks show. Fireworks are an Independence Day staple - and so is yummy, refreshing food! Bring along some appetizers, salads, drinks, and desserts as well as a picnic blanket and table settings and prepare for a night of decadent cuisine under the electric sky!
- Looking for a more chill evening? Have a family game night at home! For those who prefer to celebrate out at home, a family game night is the perfect way to spend the 4th with your loved ones. From patriotic themed card games to water balloon fights to relay races, there are plenty of themed activities to choose from that both kids and adults can enjoy!
